Tri-City Parent Advisory Circle
OpenPHR is an early-childhood information equity initiative of Patient Journey Inc, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We believe that parents—not childcare providers, private equity owners, or advertisers—must set the priorities for public childcare transparency.
What the Advisory Circle Is
The Parent Advisory Circle is currently forming as a cohort of Tri-City families living in Fremont, Newark, and Union City. To keep our accountability grounded in daily life, the majority of circle members are working parents balancing commuting schedules, care costs, and family needs.
- Prioritizing New Data: Deciding which state inspection dockets, subsidy acceptance audits, or physical plant safety metrics get published next.
- Feature Direction: Reviewing proposed directory tools, cost calculators, and tour checklists to make sure they serve working families directly.
- Independence Guardrail: Ensuring OpenPHR remains 100% free forever and independent of childcare commercial interests. No daycare pays to be listed.
Current Formation Status
We believe in complete honesty with parents and funders: the circle is forming now. It has not yet held its first formal session or adopted official policies. We are currently gathering interest from local parents to convene our founding quarterly meeting.
