OpenPHR Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 5, 2026 • Effective Immediately
1. Our Core Privacy Commitment
OpenPHR (openphr.org) is an early childhood education information equity project of Patient Journey Inc, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We believe public health and child care safety data should be accessible without compromising parent privacy.
2. What We Collect and How It Is Used
When you voluntarily enter your email address on the site (e.g. for CDSS citation monitoring alerts, daycare fit quiz results, waitlist spot notifications, or the Parent Advisory Circle), we collect your email address solely to deliver the specific updates and communications you requested about OpenPHR and licensing changes. We do not use your email for commercial advertising.
When you shortlist facilities or build comparison queues, that data is stored locally on your device (localStorage). It is not sent to or stored on our servers.
We use privacy-conscious analytics (Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization) to measure general aggregate traffic patterns (e.g. popular filters and page views) to improve site usability. We never track individual visitors across third-party websites, and we never attach personal names or emails to analytics events.
3. How to Request Deletion & Opt-Out
You have total control over your information at all times:
- Every automated notification email contains an immediate, one-click unsubscribe mechanism.
- You can request complete deletion of your email address from our database at any time by emailing privacy@openphr.org or contact@openphr.org with the subject line “Delete My Data”.
- All deletion requests are honored promptly and confirmed within 7 business days.
4. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA) Summary
Under California law, California residents possess clear statutory privacy rights:
You can ask what personal information we maintain about you.
You can demand complete deletion of your email address from our records.
We do not sell personal data. Our permanent non-sale policy satisfies this right.
Exercising privacy rights never impacts your free access to our directory or data tools.
To submit a CCPA verifiable request, contact privacy@openphr.org.
